Akshay Kumar becomes Bollywood highest taxpayer




Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar

becomes the highest advance taxpayer of Bollywood for sixth consecutive year putting behind all the major Khans of Bollywood. He paid an advance tax of Rs 19 crore. The deadline to pay advance tax expired was March 15th and before than he paid a whopping tax amount. Akshay who has a for big hits in 2012 'Khiladi 786', 'Housefull2', 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Oh My God' and 'Special 26' in 2013 has his hands full for 2013 as well. He has 'Naam Hai Boss', his home production, 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2' and 'Ramanna' under his shoulder.
Close to Akshay Kumar is Salman Khan. He paid 11 crore. Salman had two big releases in 2012, 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Dabangg 2', and both these movies made profit of Rs 150 crore at the box office. Shahrukh Khan paid Rs 10.5 crore and Aamir Khan paid Rs 7.5 crore in return. Aamir is working on only one film this year, ‘Dhoom 3’ and he is not likely to sign any movies this year. Shahid Kapoor paid 1 crore tax this year.
Among the leading heroines of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif paid 4.5 crore, her last year release ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ was a major box-office hit. While Kareena Kapoor paid an advance tax of 4 crore. Kareena has two releases this year - Puneet Malhotra's 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein' and Prakash Jha's 'Satyagraha'. Priyanka Chopra paid tax of 2 crores.
