I have been dancing since I was three: Gauahar

For Gauahar Khan, dancing means happiness

Over the past two years the lady has won accolades for her performances in songs like Chokra Jawan Re, Jhallah Wallah, Parda Parda and so on. She is also the first to perform at the Indian version of Broadway at Gurgaon. CS talks to her about her passion for dancing:

Dance, dance
I have been dancing since I was three years old. I used to copy Neelam's moves from the late 1980s films. My first brush with the technical aspects of dance was when I took part in a reality show. Rekhaji was my first teacher. I think she's extremely graceful. Then, it was Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. If Madhuri had the moves then Sridevi had the adah (style).

Broadway dreams
I loved what Nicole Kidman did in Moulin Rouge. So, when I got this chance to play a gypsy girl in my show, I was thrilled. I always longed to do Broadway and this show was the perfect answer to my long cherished dreams.

Item at risk
During the first day of the shoot of Parda Parda from Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, the huge disco ball that was above my head fell down. It injured my foot and the bleeding was non-stop. Finally Ajay (Ajay Devgn) suggested that someone put glue on the wound. Luckily, it worked and I finished the song on schedule.
