John Abraham replaces Akshay Kumar in ‘Welcome 2’

Welcome’ was producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s box-office blockbuster in 2007. The Akshay Kumar

and Katrina Kaif’s chemistry wooed the audience then and again after six years, producer Firoz Nadiadwala plans to make a sequel to the movie but with a major replacement. John Abraham will replace Akshay Kumar in ‘Welcome’ sequel. Nana Patekar, late Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal were part of the prequel but this time we will get to see John Abraham opposite Katrina Kaif.
Nadiadwala said, "It is difficult to envisage Welcome2 (tentatively titled) without Akshay, but he is definitely not doing it."
Anees Bazmee will helm the sequel like the original. The film is likely to go on floor very soon. Akshay Kumar confirmed that he is not doing ‘Welcome 2’.
"I first started discussing the third installment of Hera Pheri with Akshay in 2006. I didn't want to make it without him. It's sad that we couldn't come to an agreement. Akshay is like a brother. But I can't afford him. I hope we work together again very soon," Nadiadwala had said when the Hera Pheri deal didn't work out.
John Abraham and Akshay Kumar acted in ‘Desi Boyz’.
