‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ scores high at the box-office

Now it is a confirmed news. ‘Saheb Biwi aur Gangster returns’ is a big hit at the box office. The romantic thriller stars Irrfan Khan, Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill and Soha Ali Khan in the lead roles. The story of the sequel picks up from where it left in the 2011 film ‘Saheb Biwi aur Gangster’. It seems the trend of producing sequels is returning good dividend. A sequel already creates the awareness among the movie goers about what to expect from a film and the positive impact of the predecessor rubs off on the sequel as well.
The experts didn’t expect ‘Saheb Biwi aur Gangster returns’ to do very well at the box office. It collected Rs. 3.5 crore on Friday which was an average opening. On Saturday and Sunday the movie did good business and collected Rs. 4.25 crore and 5 crore respectively. A net collection of Rs. 12.75 crore on the opening weekend is an impressive performance.
The movie is all set to gross Rs. 20 crore in the box office on the first week itself. This is the biggest movie for director Tigmanshu Dhulia as well, in terms of earnings. It is interesting to note that the first film of the series, "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster" collected an all total of Rs. 7 crore from the box office while its sequel has crossed Rs. 7 crore mark in the first 2 days only.
