The hanging fate of
Sarabjit Singh on death row in Pakistan has triggered a fresh debate
over boycotting Pakistani actors in Bollywood. While Veena Malik, Sara
Loren, Ali Zafar are carving successful careers in India, Pakistan has
been turning a deaf ear to India’s demands of justice for Sarabjit.
India has been a home to several foreign artists who have not only
made successful careers in India but have won millions of fans too. As a
trend, several renowned Pakistani singers, actors and comedians have
been holding concerts, featuring in shows and films like Veena Malik,
Humaima Malick, Meera, Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to
name a few. However, with the debate heating up on boycotting Pakistani
cricket team and trade, the issue of banning Pakistani artists in India
is fast catching public support.

Atif Aslam
Atif Aslam is one of the most popular singers for whom the Indian
girls fall for. The Pakistani pop singer has given several chartbusters
like Jalpari, Aadat and Doorie with ‘Be Intehaan’ and ‘Allah Duhai Hai’
from Race 2 being the latest top sellers. Atif Aslam was also seen on
Indian television show ‘Sur Kshetra’ and has a very strong presence in
the Indian music industry.
Veena Malik
The ‘Chhanno girl’ who wowed the fans across India is awaiting the
release of her Bollywood film ‘Zindagi 50 50’ and is set to become the
next Vidya Balan with the Kannada film ‘Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath
Maga’. Besides Bollywood, Veena has ruled Indian television as well as a
‘Bigg Boss Season 4’ inmate and bring a part of Cricket World Cup
reality show ‘Big Toss’. Going a step ahead, Veena Malik was even eager
to find an Indian groom on ‘Veena Ka Vivah’ but the show was scrapped.
Not only this, she even featured nude on the cover of the FHM magazine
India with a ‘ISI’ tattoo on upper arm.
Ali Zafar
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
The winner of several Filmfare and Screen Awards in India, Rahat
Fateh Ali Khan debuted as a playback singer in Bollywood with the hit
song ‘Mann Ki Lagan’ in ‘Paap’. Reining the music charts with his sufi
songs, he even judged the show ‘Chhote Ustaad 2’ with Sonu Nigam and
‘Junoon - Kuchh Kar Dikhaane Ka’ on Indian television. For the record,
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was detained while deporting from India carrying
140,000 US dollars in 2011 after performing a concert.
Sara Loren
Sara Loren has already made it big with her sizzling presence in
Bollywood film ‘Murder 3’. A Pakistani television actress, Sara Loren
even changed her name from Mona Lizza to play it safe. She had made her
Bollywood debut with Pooja Bhatt’s ‘Kajraare’ in 2010.
Shakeel Siddiqui
The Pakistan based comedian Shakeel Siddiqui competed on the comedy
show on Indian television ‘Comedy Circus’, hosted the second one and
again participated in its third season ‘Kaante Ki Takkar’. Shakeel
popularly called ‘Teeli’ was also seen with Bigg Boss season 6 winner
Urvashi Dholakia in reality show ‘Ustaadon Ka Ustad’.
Humaima Malick
Humaima Malick, the Pakistani actress seen in the award winning
film ‘Bol’ is currently shooting for Bollywood film ‘Sher’ with Vivek
Oberoi and Sunil Shetty directed by Soham Shah and will be seen in
‘Vidhu Vinod Chopra's next film opposite Sharman Joshi.
Meera
Pakistani actress Meera garnered immense attention for her kissing
scene with Ashmit Patel in her Bollywood debut ‘Nazar’. Known for her
sizzling avatar much like Veena Malik, the Meera is now planning to
contest elections in hjomeland Pakistan.
