In Photos: Subrata Roy throws big bash for Sridevi

Well known businessman Subrata Roy Sahara threw a grand party for Sridevi in honor of winning the prestigious Padma Shri award. The party was attended by well-known faces from films and TV world. Sridevi returned to film after long years with Gauri Shinde’s ‘English Vinglish’ and won huge accolades.

, Sridevi’s ‘Himmatwala’ co-star Jitendra, Sanjay Kapoor and his wife Maheep Kapoor, TV host Manish Paul, Anupam Kher, Sonu Nigam, Chunkey Pandey, Gulshan Grover, Gul Panag, Anup Soni with wife Juhi Babbar, Anu Malik, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Jhanvi attended the party. Fashion designer and politician Shaina NC was also spotted at the event. Anil Kapoor also graced the event. Subrata Roy posed for the shutterbugs with his wife Swapna Roy. Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi were also present at the party thrown in honor of Sridevi. Sri and hubby Boney have been partying non-stop ever since she received the Padma Shri award last week. On Monday evening in Chennai, Sridevi’s sister Srilatha threw a party. The night before that, Sridevi’s cousin Maheshwari threw a party in her honor in Hyderabad. Says Sridevi, “I see my husband glowing with pride at the things that have happened recently (her comeback in English Vinglish and Padma Shri). More than myself  I feel happy to see him happy.”

Proud Boney said, “Why shouldn’t I be proud? You name one other actress who has had a 40-year innings and made a comeback like hers. Sri is the only actress to have played the lead with two generation of actors in the South and North. In Telugu cinema, she has starred opposite both NT Rama Rao and his son. In Bollywood, she has worked opposite both Dharmendra and Sunny Deol. She should have got the Padma Shri long back. But never mind. We’re celebrating her success belatedly.”
Talks are on that Sridevi will be cast in 'Mr India' sequel.
