Barfi!, Vidya, Ranbir emerge as the top winners at IIFA




Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi!’ won maximum awards at the 14th IIFA awards ceremony. The film bagged best film award, best director and best male actor in the leading role award which was won by Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor.  Ranbir Kapoor who played a dump and deaf in the film and was highly appreciated for the role was not present at the event to collect his award. Anurag Basu collected the award on his behalf.
"I am really missing Ranbir today. This film could not have been made without him," Basu said, after accepting the award on the actor's behalf.

Vidya Balan bagged best actress award for her electrifying performance for ‘Kahaani’. She received the award from receiving from Abhishek Bachchan, She made a special mention of her director Shoojit Sircar.
"I want to dedicate this award to my director Shoojit. This award belongs to him. No one has ever loved anyone else's wife as Shoojit loved Vidya Bagchi (name of her character) in the film. I am never short of awards and won my first award at IIFA Amsterdam after I played Abhishek's wife in Paa," she said.
The Star Plus audience jodi of the year was won by Deepika Padukone and Ranbir for ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.  Deepika, on accepting the award, said, "I love Ranbir and (am) missing him."
The best performance in supporting role (male) was won by Anu Kapoor for his film, 'Vicky Donor' while the best actress award in the supporting role (female) was won by Anushka Shrama for ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.

Anupam Kher was awarded with the international cinema award for outstanding achievement by an Indian. Javed Akhtar bagged award for his unstoppable contribution to Indian cinema.
The best debut (female) award was bagged by Yami Gautam whereas the best debut (male) award was given to Ayushmann Khuranna. Both received the award for their debut movie, ‘Vicky Donor’. "It feels like I am living in a dream. This is going to be my last debut award. In future, if I don't get any award I will be happy in every situation," Ayushmann said.

Co-hosted by Shahrukh Khan and Shahid Kpaoor, the award ceremony was attended by Bollywood bigwigs including Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Deepika, Anushka, Neha Dhupia, Huma Qureshi, Boman Irani among others.
