Highlights of IIFA 2013

International Indian Film Awards (IIFA) is an earnest effort to put Indian cinema on global platform. Every year IIFA chooses one exotic location from the world map and a three days event takes place to celebrate Indian cinema and to honor the best in the industry for that particular year.
This year IIFA is being hosted in Macao. Macao was also the host for IIFA 2009. The facilities in Macao have inspired the organizers to come back to this venue. Even the celebrities enjoyed this location a lot. Be it the casino or the architectural beauty of the place, celebrities have found their interest on this venue.
Well the top highlight of the 14th IIFA Awards at The Venetian Macao is the hosting of the show by the superstars of Indian cinema. Shahrukh Khan will be hosting the award function along with Shahid Kapoor. Shahrukh is reported to bring his signature style of commentary on stage and is going to put audiences to bursts of laughter. Shahrukh last anchored for IIFA in 2005.
As Amitabh Bachchan will get life time achievement award from IIFA for his innumerable contributions to the film industry, his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan has prepared a performance as a mark of respect for his dad.
Deepika Padukone will sizzle the stage with her dance moves from her latest dance numbers. They include ‘Balam pichkari’ and ‘Tumhi ho bandhu’. Madhuri Dixit will grace the stage with her sophisticated and elegant dance. This will be the first time that Madhuri will perform for IIFA.  Actor and choreographer Prabhudeva will perform on a dance number with Sridevi.
IIFA has added to its events ‘Women Empowerment’ as a cause that IIFA will promote under the program ‘Power of 49’. Actress Shabana Azmi told at IIFA weekend press meet, “It gives me great pleasure to announce that IIFA from this year onwards has taken upon itself, in addition to climate change, as a cause it wishes to pursue - the 'Power of 49’.”.
“Forty nine percent is the figure of the women we have in our country today and as a nation we can call ourselves civilized if this 49 percent gets empowered”, Shabana added.
For actor Sushant Rajput, this IIFA will be important as he made his debut in Bollywood. He said candidly, “I have been part of IIFA awards in the past as a background dancer... I am happy to be in the front this time. This time it’s going to be different.”

The three day event will showcase press conferences, fashion events, film briefings, green carpets, film workshops and music workshops.
