‘Saajan’ director Sudhakar Bokade passes away

Film producer Sudhakar Bokade

Sudhakar Bokade passed away at Kokilaben Dhiribhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai. He was 57. Bokade who produced movies like Sapne Saajan Ke,  Dhanwaa, Kalinga,  Prahaar,  Sauda and Yeh Pyaar Hi Toh Hai was associated with the film industry for over two decades. He rose to fame with the superhit movie, 'Saajan' starring Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit.

Sudhakar Bokade died of hart attack on last night. His daughter Divya Bokade confirmed the news, saying: "He was hospitalised day before yesterday (July 6) because he suffered a heart attack, and he passed away last night (July 7)."

His last rites will be conducted today in the afternoon. He is survived by his two daughters Divya and Kiran, and son Krishna.
