Former Miss World and Bollywood actress Yukta Mookhey filed for divorced. She became a victim of physically and mental harassment by her Nagpur based husband, a hotelier Prince Tuli. She lodged a complaint at Amboli police station against her husband, in-laws and other family members on Thursday night.
Her husband Tuli was booked by harassment and unnatural sex. Yukta in her complaint said that she was forced for unnatural sex and was physically and mentally harassed by her husband over the years. In July 2012, Yukta has filed a non-congnizable offense against Tuli. The police then asked her to approach court.
A case under section 498 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against all. Yukta said that she has been always harassed for dowry and other matters.
"We have recorded her statement and will arrest Tuli and family in a day or two. Mookhey, who stays in Andheri, approached us Thursday night," said Prabhakar Medhe, senior inspector of Amboli police.
The 36-year-old moved to her parents house with her son in 2012. She was crowned Miss World in 1999 at the age of 22. She married Price Tuli in 2008 in a traditional sikh ceremony in a Nagpur Gurudwara. She was blessed with a son in 2010. Her husband has a transport and hospitality business in Nagpur. For the last one year, she had been staying with her parents and a three-year-old son due to the marital tension.
She has also been an active member of BJP. In 2000, she handed over the Miss World crown to Priyanka Chopra.
Prince Tuli is the son of Bachhitar Singh Tuli and Harinder Kaur Tuli.
