Ajay Devgn to clash with Shahrukh Khan this Diwali

Son of Sardaar starring our very own Ajay Devgan will be releasing on the same day as Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Apparently, the film is a remake of the Telugu movie, Maryada Ramanna and the Telugu movie is again a remake of the American silent movie Our Hospitality.
The movie, SOS revolves around Ajay who is an innocent Sikh caught amidst the family conflict. It has loads of slapstick events that will not fail to make you laugh.
Many speculated that either of the two films may change course and change the release date by postponing it. Till now all the fortunes were in favor of Shah Rukh Khan’s JTHJ which stars the King Khan opposite two gorgeous ladies Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Both the leading ladies in the film are doing great in the industry and have made their hold strong against all the other leading Bollywood beauties. JTHJ also has an upper hand since it is a romantic film directed by the veteran king of romance, Mr Yash Chopra.
Accordingly, due to the sad demise of Yash ji his film may fair better at the box office due to the emotional quotient attached to it.
Both the films have been set for their release on the Diwali weekend, that is, on the 13th of November. Shahrukh Khan said, “Yashji would have wished that the other film should also do well. Everyone puts in the same amount of hard work and love in their films. It is business at the end of day.”
Trade analysts gave their view points on this clash of the two huge films, speculating that both the movies will hog up to 30 to 35 percent of each other’s business this Diwali. That is if they fight each other on the same day.
Mr Taran Adarsh a trade analyst by profession says “Whenever two big films come together, they hurt the other’s business in some way. But honestly, at this point, JTHJ has an upper hand after Yash ji’s death. Earlier, they were neck-to-neck, but now, there’s an emotional element to Yash ji’s film.”
He continues, “Ajay Devgan isn’t the only one involved with the film. Corporates like Viacom 18 and Eros are also partners. It’s not as if Ajay is the sole decision maker. Also, Diwali has been lucky for both Ajay (Golmaal Returns in 2008, All the Best in 2009 and Golmaal 3 in 2010) and SRK (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998, Veer Zaara in 2004, Don in 2006 and Om Shanti Om in 2007).”
Whereas, at the same time another expert Komal Nahta says, “Work and personal relationships are two different things. JTHJ will definitely get sympathy, but I don’t think SOS has to push its date because of that. Both films are ready for release, and it’s a fair fight at the box-office.”
