Kamal Hassan’s Vishwaroopam trailer releases on his birthday



There has been a lot of buzz regarding some of the films being made in the southern film Industry; one being Rajinikanth’s “Kochadaiyaan” and the other being Kamal Haasan’s “Vishwaroopam”.
Today being Kamal Haasan’s birthday, there could have been no other better occasion to release the trailer of his much-awaited film “Vishwaroopam”. He has turned 58 today and thus has released the very first trailer of his film, in Chennai. The film is bilingual, being shot in Hindi and Tamil languages. The Hindi version of the film has been titled as Vishwaroop.
The film stars Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Jaideep Ahlawat, Zarina Wahab and Andrea Jeremiah in ancillary roles. Shekhar Kapur will be seen in a special appearance.
The music has been composed by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. The lyrics have been penned by Vairamuthu for the Tamil version of the songs, and Javed Akhtar is responsible for the lyrics of the Hindi version of the film.
The film is also one of the most expensive films in India and has an estimated budget of around 150 crores. It has been shot abroad extensively in countries such as Canada and USA. The places where it has been shot in India include Mumbai and Chennai.
The film belongs to the genre of action-thriller. However, as it deals with a sensitive issue, Kamal Haasan found it right to issue a statement about the film that it is not going to hurt the sentiments of any community.
The film deals with terrorism as its plot, as has been revealed by the trailer. Kamal Haasan has said, “My film is neither about terrorism nor Islam. It won’t even hurt any community for that matter. The story traverses through the adversities of war, and, therefore it may appear as though it’s about terrorism, but it’s not."
He added “Vishwaroopam revolves around a marriage of convenience and the desire of the wife to spy on her dancer husband to find an excuse to leave him. This results in wires getting cross connected and all hell breaks loose”.
Kamal Haasan has written the story of this film ad has also directed it. The film has been co-produced by him along with PVP cinemas. Akshara Haasan, who is the younger daughter of Kamal Haasan also joined the crew of this film as an assistant director.
This film is all geared for a release next year, on the 13th of July.
