Cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu who is a fatherly figure in the house will leave Bigg Boss 6 house on Friday to campaign for the next month`s assembly elections in Gujarat. His wife Navjot Kaur announced this on Thursday.
Speaking to media, Navjot Kaur said that she has received a call from Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi where he asked his her to bring Sidhu to campaign for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in Gujarat.
"Party president Nitin Gadkari and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi want him to campaign in the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections," she said at a press conference here.
She said that she has approached the colors channel to allow Sidhu to come out of the house and he will soon leave the show after the announcement of Colors channel.
"Navjot Sidhu will leave the `Bigg Boss` house tomorrow (Friday) to campaign for the Gujarat assembly elections," Kaur said. His wife is a BJP legislator from the Amritsar-east constituency and she is also the chief parliamentary secretary (CPS) for health.
His wife said that though television has been a source of earning for Sidhu but due to political obligations, he is ready to quit the show.
During his few weeks of stay in the house, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been friendly to all. He tried to calm situation when the housemates embroiled in a heated argument.
Sidhu has been tagged as a marriage counselor as he tried to bring back together divorced couple Delnaaz and Rajeev Paul.
When Sidhu’s wife was asked whether she wants to see Modi as the next PM of India she replied, "I adore Modi," she said, when asked whether she wanted him to become the next prime minister.
"He (Modi) is the leader who is efficiently running his state with development as his major goal," she said.
