Vidya Balan to play classical singer MS Subbulakshmi




Bollywood filmmakers are showing much interest on biopic in the recent period. Actors are also showing keen interest to portray legends in their career. From Irfan Khan to Ranbir Kapoor, stars are looking forward to play well-known personalities in movies and the latest to join the bandwagon of portraying fable in reel is best actress winner consecutively for four times, Vidya Balan. ‘The Dirty Picture’ actress will play Carnatic classical singer MS Subbulakshmi in filmmaker Rajiv Menon’s upcoming film.
Rajiv Menon is approaching financers to finance his film, moreover, Vidya has many films lined up, “Vidya has almost wrapped up Raj Kumar Gupta’s Ghanchakkar with Emraan Hashmi. Post that, she will work on Shaadi Ke Side Effects with Farhan Akhtar and is likely to start either Sujoy Ghosh’s next or the biopic,” says an insider. 
Meanwhile, Vidya is a huge fan of the legendary singer but she is refrained from making any statement. The 35 yr old actress said, “I can’t reveal much as I’m bound by contract. All I can say is that I’m doing a biopic. When the time is right, the makers will make the necessary annou-ncement”.
Vidya was recently married to her long time boyfriend Siddharth Roy Kapur in a hush hush wedding and after taking a brief break from work, she is back. Her next film ‘Ghanchakkar’ with Emraan Hashmi is slated to release very soon.
Vidya won best actress award consecutively for four years. 2012 has been very special for Vidya in respect of marriage and professional life. Post marriage, Vidya said that marriage will not come in her work and she is open to do all kinds of roles.
