Directed by Aanand L Rai of ‘Tanu weds Manu’ fame and written by Himanshu Sharma, ‘Raanjhnaa’ has been blessed with yet another master stroke by music maestro A.R Rehman. Although only a single track named ‘tum tak’ from the film has been released so far, the music of ‘Raanjhnaa’ has already become the talk of the town.
As per sources, Eros international recently sold the music rights of this yet to be released romantic flick to Sony music at around 6 crores, which is a huge amount as per market experts say. Although the film does not boast of a very big cast, Rehman’s music has done the magic once again. Previously, films like Ghajini and Rockstar too sold at high prices thus repeating history.
This teenage love story that revolves around a Brahmin boy named Kundan who resides around the pious ghats of Benaras (played by Dhanush) and his lady love Zoya (played by Sonam Kapoor) will see singers like Javed Ali and Keerthi Sagathia lending their voice. He added that the song ’Tum tak’ was one of the most heart warming songs that he has heard so far. Further Ali praised Rehman and complimented by saying that the maestro’s music was like old vintage wine that grows better with age. With amazing combination of Benarasi music and romantic melodies, ‘Raanjhnaa’ definitely promises to be one of the best albums to look out for.
Produced by Krishika Lulla, ‘Raanjhnaa’ promises to be an intense yet sensible love story in the make. Starring Dhanush, Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor, the film captures a unique mood that revolves around the fantasy and desperateness of childhood love. This film not only is Tamil star Dhanush’s debut into Bollywood, but is also supposed to be a landmark in Sonam Kapoor’s acting career so far. With her fresh, de-glamed role in the film and a ‘performance’ in its true sense after a long time, ‘Raanjhnaa’ definitely is worth the wait!
