Sonakshi refrains from calling Salman ‘bhai’
Salman Khan’s latest offering has been “Dabangg 2” that released on the 21st of December, 2012. The film was a sequel to the 2010 film “Dabangg” that starred him and marked the debut of Sonakshi Sinha.
Sonakshi Sinha who is the daughter of Shatrugan Sinha was roped in by Salman for the film ‘Dabangg’. She shed 30 kilos for her to look right in the film. Her films that released next had been “Rowdy Rathore” and “Son of Sardar” that released in 2012 and earned more than 100 crores at the box-office.
Recently in an interview Sonakshi was quizzed as to why she does not refer to Salman as ‘bhai’. Though Salman never endorsed it and also does not like being addressed by everybody as ‘bhai’, the whole fraternity and Salman’s fan-base refers to him affectionately as ‘Salman bhai’.
When it came to Sonakshi she retorted back saying “All his co-stars call him Salman, so why should I call him anything else. Why is it an issue when I don`t attach `bhai` to Salman?”. Moreover, she has been somebody who has known the star since she was a child and from the time she entered Bollywood Salman has been her guide, thus referring to him as ‘bhai’ is out of the question for Shotgun junior.
Sonakshi has now established herself as a popular actress of Bollywood, owing to the hits she gave in 2012. In 2013 as well her platter seems to be full. She recently said in an interview, “In 2013 I have 'Lootera', 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2'... I am going to start shooting for 'Bullet Raja', 'Rambo Rajkumar' with Prabhudheva and Shahid (Kapoor) and 'Thuppakki' remake. So yeah, hands are pretty full.”
Her film “Lootera” stars Ranveer Singh of “Band Baaja Baaraat” fame. She will again be pairing up with Akshay Kumar after “Joker” and “Rowdy Rathore” for “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2”. She will also get to work with Saif Ali Khan in “Bullet Raja”.
Talking about her work she said, “It feels good. I have always worked hard and when your hard work pays off in terms of people liking your film, it is amazing.
Sonakshi who wants to shed her ‘desi’ image will be seen in a new avatar in the remake of Thupakki. She stated, “The remake of Tamil hit, Thuppaki for which I have already started shooting has a western feel to it and even in Bullet Raja, there is an Indo-western look to the film.”
