However, she had quite her studying in order to pursue her career in films. Her first commercially success film was Bazigaar, which she acted opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Her blockbuster films include ones like DDLJ, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hain. She even played the role of a negative character in the film Gupt, in which she acted opposite to Bobby Deol.
After her marriage with Ajay Devgn, she took a break from her acting career for about five years. In her entire career, her pairing with SRK has been considered to be the best pair of Bollywood till date. When Kajol was asked about her opinion on the current hit-pair of the Bollywood industry her reply was that no one according to her can match up to the marks of DDLJ or Kuch Kuch Hota Hain.
