Jacqueline Fernandes to Appear in Roy

Jacqueline Fernandeshas been signed on to play the lead role in the film Roy. She is being cast opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Though the actress is excited about her co star, she declared that she had chosen Roy not because of the actor of the Barfi fame but because she liked the story and found it interesting. "Roy is a very interesting film. It is being directed by debut filmmaker Vicky Singh. The film came to me much before Ranbir and I signed it that time only without thinking about my co-star. Ranbir came to board much later and I feel it is much exciting now," said the actress who was last seen in the multi starrer thriller, Race III.

Director Vicky Singh is a childhood friend of Ranbir and he had assisted Farhan Akhtar in Lakshya. He had been trying to direct a film, but things were not working out. In one of his projects, he had cast Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor but when they fell out, the project had to be abandoned. Next, Vicky had tried to utilize the off screen chemistry of Ranbir and Deepika, but it too was a non starter. Perhaps this is why Vicky has selected Jacqueline for the lead role in his film opposite Ranbir instead of the latter’s current love interest Katrina.
In the film, Ranbir will be playing a thief called Roy. Arjun Rampal also appears in the film in the role of a filmmaker. The film will be a complete entertainer with lots of action. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, a large part of the film will be shot overseas. There is still one more slot for another female lead and this has not yet been finalized.
With Roy, Jacqueline’s career is doing well enough. She is now working on Kick – a remake of the super hit Telegy film of the same name opposite Salman Khan which is being made by Sajid Nadiawala. "Kick is the biggest opportunity of my career so far. I am so happy that my career graph is going up positively. I worked with Sajid (Nadiawala) in Housefull 2 and he gave me the chance to star opposite Salman. I don't know from where this luck came from," said Jacqueline. The actress had also appeared in an item number opposite Prabhudeva.
Jacqueline is also the brand ambassador of the Indian Bridal Fashion Week, due to start on 23^rd July.
