Rakhi Sawant has always been in controversy for one or the other reason. She once stirred up news, when she fought for the rights of the fellow residents of her residential society. But this time she is on cloud number 9 as she has been appointed as the chairperson of Disputes Settlement Committee of the Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA).Rakhi Sawant was elected for this coveted position.
Now the artistes would give a call to Rakhi in order to settle their disputes. Artistes generally face disputes regarding payments and date schedules of acting among others.
An excited Rakhi told, “I have started working on this. There hasn't been a single day when I haven't given time to the artistes. We fight with producers and recover the artistes' money.”
She further added, “Dharmesh-ji (Dharmesh Tiwari, President, CINTAA) helps me out with everything and it cannot be possible without him. We have managed to recover more than Rs 1 crore from some TV serial makers who had not made the payments to many people involved with their shows.”
When Rakhi filed for election of CINTAA, she had her motto in place. Her motto was “To change the system” in order to facilitate the work culture of artists. Every second year CINTAA elections are conducted. She had earlier said, “Artists are not being given their due respect. They are committing suicide; they are not getting their payment. They are in great distress and that's why, along with my group, I am contesting election.”
The 34 years old actress also promised to resign from her post if she failed in her mission.
Before election, she had prayed, “I wish, we win these elections and change the entire system.”
It is evident that people who voted for her, had faith in her.
“I promise if we would fail to bring the necessary changes in the system as per 'Rakhi's Agenda', I will resign. We want to win only to serve you.” said the controversy queen.
Rakhi made her debut in 1997 with a film ‘Agnichakra’. She also played a number of small roles and did dance numbers in movies. In 2003 she was selected in an audition for an item song in ‘Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne’. Apart from small roles in movies, she also appeared in a number of television shows.
