Rajesh Khanna’s live-in partner files case against his family

Anita Advani, who is claiming to be the ‘Live-in Partner’ of the legendary actor Rajsh Khanna for many years, filed case against the Khanna family regarding domestic violence subjected upon her. The case has been filed against Dimple Khanna, the daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna as well as the son-in-law of the family- Akhshay Kumar. This was done three months after the demise of Rajesh Khanna.
In the case of domestic violence which has been filed before Court of Magistrate in Bandra on Wednesday, it was claimed by Anita Advani that she was ‘living in’ with Rajesh Khanna for over 9 years and that she has a right on his property as well. She also told the Magistrate that she was driven out of Rajesh Khanna’a residence, Aashirwad, on Carter road. The Magistrate of Bandra Court, Mr. S.S. Deshpande, has told the Khanna family to submit their files regarding their say before or on 27th November.
Anita Advani alleged that the will that Rajesh Khanna had left behind was manipulated by the members of the Khanna Family. Hence, under the protection of Domestic Violence Act, she made her re-entry in Aashirwad, recently. She has further claimed the fact that she had looked after the very ill Rajesh Khanna just like a wife would have done.
Anita Advani’s lawyer, Manohar Shetty has told the PTI that the notices issued by the court of Bandra Magistrate will be handed to the Khanna family through a bailiff. The hearing of the case is scheduled on 27th November. Advani has further claims. She tells the press that under section 19 of the Domestic Violence Act, if the Magistrate of the court is satisfied with the fact that any form of domestic violence has taken place, may pass a ‘Resident Order’. Under this order the respondent may not by any means move out the person who has been aggrieved, whether or not the person claims any right over the property of the deceased person.
Manohar Shetty has further told the PTI that even though the Bandra Court is not able to help her get possession of Aashirwad, Advani might seek a 50 crore compensation, as written under Section 20 of the Act.
It just seems that our beloved Kaka’s residence has become a major disputed issue between his love and his family. However, they will have to wait till the 27th of November for the final results.
