Amitabh Bachchan buys 50 crore property behind Jalsa

It seems Bachchans are facing space crunch like other Mumbaikars and so they are on expansion spree. Must be so, with the expanding family; their requirement for space has increased.  Though they already have four bungalows in Juhu, Mumbai, Bachchans were contemplating acquiring one more bungalow for quite some time now.
They have finally zeroed down on a bungalow. And guess what? They have found the bungalow just behind their primary residence, Jalsa. Behind Jalsa, there is a huge bungalow which the Bachchan family has recently bought. For this bungalow the senior actor has paid a whooping sum of Rs.50 crores. So now they have five bungalows viz. Juhu-Vile Parle Development Scheme (JVPD) – Prateeskha, Janak, Vatsa, Jalsa and this newest property. Prateeksha was their first house. They bought Janak in 2004 and they have started using it for office purpose. Vatsa has been rented out to Citibank. Bachchan family stays at Jalsa and the newest property is just behind Jalsa.
The newest house has a plot area of 750 square yard. The wall which separated Jalsa and their new house has been removed. Interior work and renovation work at the new house has already begun. It is known that for past some time the Bachchan family was looking out for a property near their present location. They did found a property near Vatsa. An old woman was in possession of that property but she finally refused to sell that off.
Bachchans have brought the new property from Anand Pandit. He bought this property some 3-4 years back with an investment purpose in mind. He stays in Janki Kutir which is less than 50 meters from the property which Bachchans have bought. Well, Anand Pandit bought this property from Harshad Gandhi.
Real estate experts estimate the living area of the new property to be approximately 8000 square feet. According to a source, Bachchans are not planning to merge both the bungalows. They are planning to leave a huge space between both the houses. Only after the renovation gets over, the purpose of the vast backyard area will be clear.
The new property is jointly purchased by Abhishek and Amitabh. The advantage of this new property is that its entry opens up to a small road whereas the entry for Jalsa opens up to a busy VL Mehta road, where fans usually gather to get a glimpse of the stars. This new property will ensure some privacy to the family.
