‘Dabangg 2' slows down, doubtful to earn 200 crores

Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg 2’ starts of really well and within eight days after the film release the film crossed 100 crore at the box-office but several external factors slows down the collection of the movie at the box-office. The way the film start off, it was highly expected that very soon it might cross the 200 crore mark but the picture is not so.
The opening weekend was impressive, garnered 60 crore. An industry source says, "The second weekend hasn't been smiling upon the Khan-daan as much as they were expecting. The Friday numbers added up to only Rs 4.5 crore, Saturday to Rs 5.5 crore and Sunday jumping to Rs 9 crore, earning Rs 19 crore over the weekend."
The total collection now stands at Rs 126 crore. Distributor Akshaye Rathi says, "Dabangg 2 has performed extremely well at the BO, but if certain external factors had favoured it better, the film would have been on a different level by now.

The Indo-Pak cricket series and all the news about the heinous Delhi gang-rape grabbed the attention of the country (and justifiably so), keeping a lot of people from going to the cinemas."
Trade analyst feels that only miracle can make ‘Dabangg 2’ cross 200 crore mark.
‘Dabangg 2’ was released on December 21st. The movie is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster ‘Dabangg’ directed by Anurag Kashyap. It was the highest grosser of 2010. Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey is a huge hit and Sonakshi Sinha played Rajjo, Chulbul’s wife in the movie. Prakash Raj replaced Sonu Sood as the villain in the sequel. Kareena Kapoor's 'Fevicol Se' item number became a huge craze among the youngster
