Manish claims he is designing Bebo’s dresses not Ritu

Some controversy is stirring up around Saifeena’s marriage. Yes, yet another one again! Earlier it was said that Kareena’s wedding dress is being designed by Ritu Kumar. But now Manish Malhotra has come out in the open, claiming that he alone is designing all the dresses for Kareena.
While speaking to Hindustan Times, Manish revealed all this. He was asked that why designer Ritu Kumar had been claiming that she was the one restoring Sharmila Tagore’s 40 year old lehenga, which Kareena will wear on the D-day. Manish said to that, “That’s not true at all. For the past two weeks, the workers in my unit have been painstakingly restoring Sharmila ji’s old wedding lehenga that Bebo will wear for her nikaah on the 16th. I’ve put a lot of effort into carefully restoring the golden zardosi work. I don’t know how someone else can claim to be doing it. That would not be right.”

He did not want to say anything about Ritu Kumar, whom he considers a senior. When Ritu Kumar was approached she did not say much. She just said, “I just don’t want to say anything now, it is a sensitive topic for me. The family is best placed to comment on it.”
Manish was asked what else Kareena is going to wear. He said that he is designing all the outfits of Kareena and her elder sister Karishma. Revealing on her dresses, he said that on the 14^th of October for the pre-weeding ceremony, Kareena would be wearing a traditional garara. For her wedding on the 16^th of October, she would be wearing Sharmila Tagore’s royal lehenga. It would be followed by another lehenga in the evening. For the grand reception party to take place in Delhi, she will be wearing an exquisite sari, designed by him. He also said that Kareena had wanted all her outfits to look very Indian so that they capture the old-world charm.

When asked about Saif Ali Khan’s wedding dress, he was not quite sure about it. He said it is being designed by Raghavendra Singh Rathore.
He was asked about the other marriage preparations that are going on. He said that his house has become the rehearsal ground for the wedding. Karan Johar who is choreographing the entire wedding is doing his rehearsals there. They are to do the dancing at Kareena’s sangeet. They would be dancing to Kareena’s song Chhammak Chhallo and also some other songs from Saif Ali Khan’s movie.
