Watch: Sonakshi, Ranveer's romance in 'Ankahee' song

The film ‘Lootera’ is already in headline for all the positive vibes it is creating. It is the second film by the director Vikramaditya Motwane after his highly acclaimed maiden attempt ‘Udaan’. Ranveer Singh plays the lead role in the film, named Varun and her lady love on the big screen named Pakhi is played by Sonakshi Sinha.
The talented musician Amit Trivedi has directed music in the film and has done a gem of a job. The first song from the film that released was ‘Sawaar loon’ and the romantic number was an instant hit with the masses. Next number from the film that released is ‘Ankahee’. The song lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and the song is sung by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
‘Ankahee’ is a song that tells the story of two lovers, their pain of separation, multitude of emotions and pinning for each other. The song also glimpses of the joyous moments of the love birds together. The song is also picturised very beautifully. Sonakshi is seen in a completely new avatar in the song, highlighting the long gone glamorous era of Bengal. Ranveer also doesn’t fails to charm and oozes confidence in the song sequence.
The movie is loosely based on the world famous short story of O’ Henry, ‘The last leaf’ and written, modified by the director himself. The story is based on the backdrop of erstwhile era of Bengal. An excited Sonakshi Sinha speaking about the project told the media that, "I play a Bengali girl. It's an authentic Bengali look of the fifties that I am sporting and they (the director and designer Subarna) have taken a lot of trouble to go through the kind of clothes, jewellery, hair and make-up done in that era. We have tried to replicate it. Vikramaditya has kept the make-up simple with only the kajal, kumkum, and some laali on the lips which is what the women used to do then. It was the most difficult shooting experience for me so far. In terms of my character, my look, my performance and the locations, everything had to be from an era I knew nothing about.
"The song ‘Ankahee’ in short describes the entire story of the film in a musical note. ‘Lootera’ is scheduled release all across India on 5^th July 2013. We sure hope that the music turns out to be as good as its songs.
