All is not well with Karan Johar. Or at least that is
what insiders at his production house seem to be telling us. Recently
the producer-director had an urgent meeting with his creative team
asking them to come up with better scripts for his banner.
Both his last outings– ‘Bombay Talkies’ and ‘Gippi’ haven't fared
well at the box-office. A source reveals, “Karan wants Dharma to deliver
a big blockbuster. Even though his last directorial venture ‘Student of
the Year’ was a success; it didn't create the expected noise at the
box-office. Now all eyes are set on Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone's
starrer ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ which has already created great buzz.
Karan also wants to work with Salman Khan for the longest time and has
been sending him feelers."
We think Karan shouldn't worry and take a chill pill. ‘Bombay
Talkies’ wasn't meant to be a commercial success, while ‘Gippi’ is a
niche effort directed at the teenage girls. Hopefully the success of
YJHD should get back the spring in his step!
