BCCI suspends Raj Kundra

Board of cricket control in India today suspended Rajasthan Royals owner Raj Kundra

Raj Kundra after he was found guilty of betting in all the seasons of IPL.  During police interrogation, Kundra accepted that he has betted on his team and according to report, he has lost a huge amount on betting. His wife Shilpa Shetty is also accused of betting on her team.

"The working committee today decided to suspend Raj Kundra on allegations of gambling on IPL 6 matches till the pendency of inquiry," a senior working committee member and BCCI office-bearer said.

BCCI has banned Raj Kundra from taking part in any cricketing activity related to Rajasthan Royals.
"Kundra will be debarred from taking part in any cricketing activity related to Rajasthan Royals which effectively means that he won't be seen during Rajasthan Royals matches in the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 in September," he said.
Jagmohan Dalimya called up an emergency meeting after it was proved that Raj Kundra who has a stake of 11.7 per cent in Rajasthan Royals, betted during the IPL matches.
There is also possibility of Rajasthan Royals being terminated from the team, to avoid this ill fate the other franchises already cut ties from Raj.
BCCI's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit chief Ravi Sawani also forwarded the report on the three tainted cricketers -- Test pacer S Sreesanth, Ashok Chandila and Ankeet Chavan -- who have been arrested for alleged spot-fixing.

"The sealed report of Sawani was not opened at the meeting as the committee found it prudent to hand it over to the disciplinary committee," the official said.

"As is the process of natural justice, the players, once they are out of judicial custody, will be summoned for presenting their side of the story before the final verdict is pronounced," he added.
