As Karisma Kapoor celebrates her birthday today on 25^th June, let’s take a look at her journey from being a kid to being an actress to being a mom to being an entrepreneur. This actress keeps re-inventing a new facet of her vivacious personality and every time she makes people turn their head in awe.
She is fondly called as ‘Lolo’ by her relatives and Bollywood friends. She was born to Bollywood actors Randhir Kapoor

Randhir Kapoor and Babita on 25th June 1974.  They have another kid, Kareena Kapoor. Karisma is older than Kareena and both the sisters enjoy a close bond. Karisma always teases her younger sister by telling that she is her mother’s favorite kid. Karisma although is quite protective about her younger sister.

Karisma is the first female kid from her Kapoor clan to have entered Bollywood . She made her debut with ‘Prem Qaidi’ in 1991. She was seventeen years old then. After that she appeared in a number of movies like ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Coolie No 1’ and ‘Jeet’ among others.
In 1996, Karisma appeared in ‘Raja Hindustani’. This movie was a milestone in her career. She underwent a makeover prior to this movie. She is reported to have got a’ nose job’ done which gave her a very glamorous appeal. Her acting was also highly appreciated in this movie. She received her first Filmfare Award for this movie in the category of best female actress.
After this Karisma gave a number of hits and appeared in critically acclaimed movies like ‘Zubeidaa’ and ‘Fiza’. She also received National Award for best supporting actress in ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’.
Then she went on to wear an engagement ring from her long-time boy friend Abhishek Bachchan. It was a high profile engagement. But after few months of engagement, Karisma broke her engagement with Abhishek. The reason is not known as neither of the families came forward to speak on this issue.
After that she married her child hood friend and Delhi based Businessman Sanjay Kapur in a ‘fat Indian wedding’ style. Bollywood witnessed her marriage.  However just before the birth of their first child, there was news of the couple calling their ‘relationship off’. But they again gave a second chance to their marriage and their second child was born. They have a daughter and a son.
After being a mother, Karisma entered into business and launched online baby shop called ‘Baby Oye’. She also appeared in several reality shows on television. Recently she acted a lead role in movie ‘Dangerous Ishq’. The movie received mixed reviews.
The actress has been socially active and she might be seen in more movies.
