While the buzz about a follow-up to the 1994 superhit comedy Andaz Apna Apna is set to turn into reality, one major actor may not be part of the much-awaited sequel.
Though the film's producer is said to have sent feelers to Aamir and Salman Khan, fans of the cult Indian film may miss Shakti Kapoor in one of his best roles; the Crime Master Gogo avatar.
A major reason for this could be the long-standing tiff between Salman Khan and Shakti Kapoor, after the latter is said to have uttered expletives to Salman in a drunken state a few years ago.
When we asked Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar about whether Shakti Kapoor's omission could affect the popularity of the sequel, all he said was, "If Andaz Apna Apna has to have a sequel, it makes sense, either to have all the same faces back, or go in for a complete overhaul, with a full new cast playing the characters."
"But apart from this, one shouldn't forget that the music also played a major role in the film's success, and it will be an uphill task to match the genius of composer Tushar Bhatia for a new score," the publicist added.
Meanwhile, it's learnt that Rajkumar Santoshi who directed the first part twenty years ago, could take charge of the sequel too.
