Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush starrer ‘Raanjhanaa’ which opened
with a mixed review on Friday has been able to garner a promising first week
collection. The film made Rs 21 crore in the opening weekend. It starts off well
making 5 crore in the first day and gradually the numbers are rising.
The film which was made in bilingual-Hindi and Tamil was released across Tamil Nadu and was highly watched.

The overseas collection of ‘Raanjhanaa’ was also marvelous, “UK#Raanjhanaa Fri £ 18,890, Sat £ 30,569. Total: £ 49,459 [Rs 45.22 lacs], Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Dhanush’s performance was highly applauded by the audience as well as the critics and so is Sonam Kapoor's. Sonam is very happy because her father Anil Kapoor who has been her biggest critic praised her performance. She enacted a teenage girl and Sonam said that she took inspiration from Jaya Bachchan’s ‘Guddi’ to enact the role.
Directed by Anand Rai of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ fame, the film also stars Abhay Deol in a pivotal role. Dhanush played a UP Brahmin boy and Sonam his ladylove.
