Watch Trailer: Prateik Babbar romancing 16 yr old girl in 'Issaq'

Veternan actor Raj Babbar’s son Prateik Babbar

Prateik Babbar is a new entrant to the film industry of Bollywood. He has already grabbed the attention of the critics with his impeccable natural acting style. His performances in the movies ‘Dhobi Ghat’, ‘Aarakshan’, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ and ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’ are well appreciated by the film fraternity. He is absent from the big screen for some time, but it seems the wait is finally over. The actor is busy shooting for his upcoming film, ‘Issaq’.
Manish Tiwary is directing the film ‘Issaq’. It is a love story adapted from Shakespeare’s eternal novel, ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Varanasi is used as the backdrop of the story in an era when the sand mafias and the naxalites are dominating the social landscape of the region. The story narrates the violent clashes between the naxalites and the sand mafias. Accordingly the film is given a rustic look that brings out the story much more convincingly.
The love occurs between the children of rival sand mafias. Prateek Babbar plays the role of Rahul Mishra, a 26 year old hunk and the son of a sand mafia. Prateek’s love interest is a 16 year old girl, affectionately called ‘Bachchi’ who is the daughter of a rival sand mafia.
The search for the actress who would play the role of ‘Bachchi’ was extensive. Finally the film crew selected the girl for the role but her identity was kept as a well guarded secret. Even during the outdoor shooting of the movie at Varanasi, the heroine was kept hidden from the prying eyes.
Finally the secret is out. A 16 year girl named Amyra Dastur is playing the role of ‘Bachchi’. She is is born and brought up in Mumbai. Amrya got selected from 400 girls. Speaking about it, the director Tiwary said, "Since the film is an adaptation of Romeo And Juliet, the chemistry between the two is very important. After a lot of search we found the right girl. We were looking for somebody who is very young and innocent and at the same time can carry off the rustic look of a Banarasi girl." He also added, "We are very happy with Bachchi and she certainly looks very good with Prateik who has a lean look in the film."
It seems Amyra is now certainly making the headlines and we hope that her film performs well at the box office too.
