Madhur Bhandarkar who is an ace film maker has always been inspired by real life stories to portray in his movies. This time also he wants to make a movie on the life of a super model. And who can fit into the role of a supermodel other than Deepika Padukone, who herself was a model before coming to Bollywood.
The movie is rumored to be titled ‘Calendar Girl’ and Madhur is keen on casting Deepika for this role. He has even approached the leggy-lass who is still thinking of the offer. Deepika has not yet signed the film. A source says, “The script is naturally woman-centric and he (Madhur) is keen to have Deepika on board.”
“Deepika is a former model and has been a calendar girl herself. Therefore she fits the bill perfectly. It will be interesting to see if she can accommodate her dates for this film”, adds the source. Well when the spokes person of Deepika was contacted, he replied, “Nothing formal has come our way from Madhur.”
Even Madhur is keeping his mouth shut on this topic as he had an ugly experience with Aishwarya Rai in his last movie ‘Heroine’. For his last movie, he had earlier approached Aishwarya for the role of the lead cast. But since the story got viral before any solid ground work, Aishwarya opted out of the movie. So this time Madhur is not even accepting of making any film with Deepika. He tweeted, “Just to set the record straight I am NOT making any film called Calendar Girl. So there’s no question of approaching any actor or actress.” He further added, “Currently I am busy scripting my next film. Casting will come later. When the time is right, I’ll make an official announcement.”
When the media gave a call to the director asking him for a confirmation on the news, he said, “The story that has appeared in today’s newspaper is false. I’m writing a script.” He further said, “Bataunga, yaar, right time aane de!”
Madhur has thrice won National Award for his films. He has won national award for ‘Traffic Signal’, ‘Page 3’ and ‘Chandni Bar’. He started his film making career as an assistant director for ‘Rangeela’. As a director he debuted with ‘Trishakti’ which remained unnoticed. His first block buster movie was ‘Chandni Bar’ which was released in 2001. He is being called the ‘realistic film maker’.
