Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's small-budget production "Fukrey" has been declared a hit and Ali Fazal, seen in an important role in the film, reveals that the film took superstar Shah Rukh Khan back to his younger days.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the film came out June 14 and has done a business of over Rs.30 crore.
"Biggest compliment that we all got was from Shah Rukh Khan. He appreciated our acting and he himself told us how it took him back to his younger days," Fazal said here Tuesday at "Fukrey" success party.
Fazal made his debut in 2009 with Aamir Khan-starrer "3 Idiots" and was later seen in Shah Rukh's production "Always Kabhi Kabhi".
He is keen to maintain his relationship with the two Khans.
"I am very happy that he enjoyed it because he also happens to be my producer. My entry in Bollywood happened in a way because of Aamir bhai and Shah Rukh sir. So that connection, I hope, remains," Ali said.
"Fukrey" also stars Manjot Singh, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Priya Anand, Richa Chadda and Vishakha Singh.
