After Shah Rukh Khan, director Karan Johar to share screen with Ranbir Kapoor

Careers of many popular Bollywood actors have truly taken off only when they acted in a Karan Johar’s film. The list includes Shah Rukh Khan and Varun Dhawan. Now, the popular director is all set to face the camera in Anurag Kashyap's upcoming period drama Bombay Velvet.

"It's true that I'm acting in Bombay Velvet and it's unusual for me. I was blown away by the narrative... Since I'm playing an antagonist, there are shades of grey to my character," Johar said to a website.

However, this will not be Karan Johar’s first outing as an actor. He was earlier seen doing cameos in Shah Rukh Khan’s DDLJ and Farhan Akhtar’s Luck By Chance.

The film, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, is about two loves and how their life intermingled with the evolution of Bombay, through the 50s to early 70s.
