‘JTHJ’ earns 80 cr, ‘Son Of Sardar’ makes 66 cr in first week



Yash Chopra’s ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ which released on diwali had a grand opening at the box-office. Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Son Of Sardar’ which involved in a tough competition with JTHJ regarding film distribution also gave a tough fight to ‘JTHJ’.
The first weekend collection at the box-office is out and the number of ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ is Rs 80.73 crores in the first week and ‘Son Of Sardar’ garners 66 crore nett at the box-office.
’Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ was released on 2,500 screens while ‘Son Of Sardar’ was released on 2000 screens on the same date. JTHJ earned Rs.15.23 crore (Tuesday) Rs.19.54 crore (Wednesday), Rs.14.45 crore (Thursday) and Rs.11.17 crore (Friday), Rs.10.38 crore (Saturday), Rs.9.96 crore (Sunday). '

If the domestic and overseas collection of JTHJ is combined then the film has crossed the 100 crore mark and the combined figure of Son of Sardar is 76.81 cr.

Both the movies has suffered a huge loss in Maharashtra on Saturday following the death of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray as evening and night shows were cancelled. The state did not have any screening on Sunday
