“Talaash”- a big release of 2012

Talaash” marks the return of Aamir Khan on the silver screen. Last he was seen in his wife’s directorial debut “Dhobi Ghaat” in the year 2010. However, the role was a cameo and thus it can be safely said that “3 Idiots” (2009) had been his last full-fledged film. In this film Aamir Khan plays the role of a cop who is trying to unravel a mystery.
The film apart from Aamir, stars Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. The two actresses are stars in their own right. Rani has been to the pinnacle of her success and thus has a great fan following. She is talented and can get into the skin of her characters very well. Rani plays Aamir Khan’s wife in the film. She portrays a distressed and somber look, this being stated purely on the basis of what is shown in the trailers. Kareena Kapoor plays a prostitute who adds to the mystery of the plot and also entangles herself with Aamir.
Kareena, on the other hand, is enjoying all the attention that she is getting from the film industry. She is one of the top actresses of today’s time and rightly so. There has been a tremendous change in the way she would act in her initial films and now. She will be seen onscreen post her wedding in “Talaash” for the first time, though the shooting was over long back. Therefore, that itself will arouse a certain kind of interest in the audience.
When it is an Aamir Khan film, there is a certain amount of expectation from the content of the film. This film lies in the genre of suspense thriller and thus it is expected that the story must be intense and greatly put together to keep the tension building. Nothing much has been revealed about the storyline of the film, apart from the characters each of the stars play and at all the promotional events the cast have been able to remain tight- lipped. This has already created a curiosity in the audience.
Reema Kagti, the director, too is talented. She has directed “Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.” before.  The film had an unusual storyline and she directed it well. She also co-wrote “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” along with Zoya Akhtar and thus it definitely reflects her talent.
The film is being produced by Aamir Khan’s Aamir Khan Productions and Riteish Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. Such big names backing this film clearly prove the film has a scope of being a blockbuster.
