SRK repeats the famous DDLJ scene for “Chennai Express”

With Jab Tak Hai Jaan done with eyes are pinned on what is next for the actor, Shah Rukh Khan. His next film is going to be “Chennai Express” that is being directed by Rohit Shetty. The female lead opposite him is Deepika Padukone.
The film is being shot in Goa like every other film of Rohit Shetty. His ‘Golmaal’ series, ‘Singham’, ‘All the Best’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’ have all been shot in Goa and thus this film is nothing different.
Deepika Padukone has many films to her credit since her debut in 2007. She has played various characters and has dressed very fashionably for each of her films and has sported numerous looks as well. This film will see her in a different look all together. She resembles a typical South Indian girl from the village and looks quite convincing playing the part.
The train journey forms a pivotal part of the film. It works as the backdrop that takes the story forward and thus the title of the film has been kept as “Chennai Express”.
Recently a picture form the sets of the film were released on the net. The picture shows SRK standing near the door of the train while Deepika is in the platform moving towards him. This scene is reminiscent of the scene of the climax when Kajol is seen running in the platform to board the train with SRK trying to lend her a hand. This scene thus looks like an attempt to recreate the magic of the SRK-Kajol jodi.
However, a notable difference is in the fact that Deepika is only walking slowly and is not in a hurry to board the train.
The train sequence is being shot in Goa on the Vasco Railway Station. One of the platforms has been cordoned off for the shoot of this film. SRK has been busy shooting there since Saturday. A train has also been hired only for the shoot. The platform has been made to look like the Kalyan station of Mumbai.
A month back a scene had been shot at CST Railway Station for this film.       
A unit member from the sets, was quizzed about the resemblance of this film’s train sequence with that of DDLJ. He said “There is a resemblance, yes. But it’s not an attempt to recreate the scene. This happens to be an important part of the sequence of events.”
