The Khans of Bollywood have been known for releasing their films around certain festivals. This helps in encashing the festive mood and to get a higher number of foot falls in the movie halls.
Aamir Khan is known for releasing his film during Christmas, Shah Rukh Khan during Diwali and Salman Khan during Eid. Things had been going this way for years until now.
This year Salman Khan’s “Ek tha Tiger” got released during Eid like his other films “Wanted”, “Bodyguard”, “Dabangg”, and “Ready”. Shah Rukh Khan’s much-hyped “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” too got released this year during Diwali. However, Aamir Khan’s latest offering ‘Talaash” is getting released on the 30th of November, this year and therefore the slot during Christmas has not been occupied yet. Hence it is being claimed that Salman Khan’s next film “Dabangg 2” that is nearing completion, may get released in Christmas.
It was Salman’s irrational belief that if his film got released during EID it would become a blockbuster and thus he stuck to that for years. But now it seems like he too will be shedding off his superstitious belief and gets his film “Dabangg 2” released in December during Christmas.
Salman’s only film that ever got released during this time was his first film, the blockbuster “Maine Pyar Kiya”. The film had released in the year 1989 and since then there has been no looking back for Salman.
The first trailer of this film has been released and it has been able to garner huge attention from the audience. The film has been one of the most-awaited films. Arbaaz Khan will be making his debut as a director with ‘Dabangg 2’. The first installment of this film had been directed by Abhinav Kashyap.
Dabangg had been a huge hit and the character of Chulbul Pandey struck a chord with the audience. This time around the stakes are higher, as Arbaaz has stepped into the shoes of the director, plus Salman needs to create that same frenzy among his audience with this film that he created with ‘Dabangg’.
Also instead of Malaika Arora Khan’s Munni act, Kareena Kapoor has been zeroed in on for the item number that is expected to create quite a stir among all the viewers. The songs that have got released too have been accepted well by the audience. What is worth watching out for is how well Salman does this time during Christmas after 23 years.
