John Abraham ventured into production this year with a small-budget film titled “Vicky Donor”. The film starred newcomers Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam.
The film had not been hyped too much, but when it released it received a big positive response from the viewers and the critics for its dealing with a fresh content, that is sperm donation. The newcomers too received thumbs up for their seamless acting skills.
Shoojit Sircar had directed the film and got tremendous positive reaction from the audience and the people of the industry for his take on the subject.
Post the success of “Vicky Donor”, another film is being considered by the same team of John Abraham and Shoojit Sircar. John will produce this new film under his banner JA Entertainment whereas Shoojit will direct it. The film has been titled “Hamara Bajaj”. Ayushmann Khurrana will be repeated in the film to play the role of the male lead whereas the heroine for the same has not been selected yet.
There are two contenders for the role of the female protagonist. One is Yami Gautam and the other is Parineeti Chopra. When Shoojit Sircar was asked about his next, he said “I have two leading ladies in mind for this film - Yami Gautam and Parineeti Chopra. Both of them are wonderful actresses. I feel both of them will fit the role, I would like to work with them”. He also confirmed that Ayushmann will play the lead saying “finalized only Ayushmann Khurrana”.
He added further, “Let`s see how things shape up, than we will decide whom to cast”. The script of the film “Hamara Bajaj” has not been finalized yet and the shoot will begin in the mid-2013.
Shoojit Sircar further revealed bits about the new film saying, “My film is in its scripting stage...We are planning to shoot the film in Bhopal, Lucknow, Delhi and other locations”.
Ayushmann, who started off as VJ and then turned to acting, earlier had divulged in an interview a little about this film. He had been quoted as saying “There is a two film contract and I have signed my next film with Shoojit Sircar and John. It is a story of a small time struggling actor called Sanjay Bajaj and that is why the title 'Hamara Bajaj'. It is a drama about a small time guy, who wants to be an actor and eventually becomes a star. But there are challenges”.
