Watch Trailer: Farhan Akhtar in “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra shot to fame with “Rang De Basanti”. His next had been “Delhi 6” which did not do well at the box-office. His latest offering is going to be “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” which is a biopic on Milkha Singh.
Milkha Singh is an Indian athlete who lost his parents during the partition of India. The story revolves around him and his life. Farhan was first seen sporting a look for this film that was similar to that of Milkha.  He garnered a lot of attention from everybody and got thumbs up from the media.
The trailer of the film is out and it is of 2-minute duration. The trailer makes the storyline palpable, a true story based on the athlete Milkha Singh. Glimpses of the movie in the trailer shows Farhan Akhtar’s brilliance as an actor. It definitely promises to be his best till now.
Sonam Kapoor also stars in the film. She plays the love-interest of Milkha. The real-life Milkha is known to have been sold this story for nothing, but one rupee. The remuneration from this film is going to be used for athletes who are in dire need of money.
There is an interesting anecdote which later resulted in the title of the film. Milkha Singh’s father’s last words to him had been “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”. He had said this when riots had already struck due to the partition. Milkha lost his family in these riots during 1947. The story upholds his life, his spirit, his grit and his perseverance to the audiences.
The shoot of this film is complete. Farhan Akhtar has been quite emotionally connected to this film. His role has been challenging but he has done full justice to it.
On wrapping up the shoot for this film, Farhan took to his Twitter account to tweet about his frame of mind. He tweeted “As the shoot on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag crosses the finish line, enveloped by a sense of loss. The unit - our temporary commune - is broken up. Best wishes to all”.
The film will be releasing on the 12th of July, next year. A.R Rahman had been approached to do the film’s music. But due to his busy schedule, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy had been selected. The film has been produced by the director himself in partnership with Viacom 18.
The film lies in the sports genre that has not quite found ground with the Indian audience but there has been exceptions in the past, and what can be made out from the trailers, is that this film will definitely hit the nail.
