After ‘Don’ and ‘Agneepath’, yesteryear blockbuster ‘Zanjeer’ is the third film that Priyanka Chopra is playing lead in any remakes and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar warns Piggy Chopps from being typecast.
Priyanka played the lead opposite Shahrukh in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don’ which is a remake of yesteryear hit ‘Don’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and then she was again part of Karan Johar’s ‘Agneepath’ opposite Hrithik Roshan which is also a remake.
Farhan fears that too many of remakes might typecast Priyanka and he warns the actress on twitter about it.
“Priyanka Chopra, do you realise that this is the third official remake of Amitabh Bachchan you are in? Be careful you don't get typecast,” Farhan tweeted.
'Zanjeer' remake has been produced by Amit Mehra, the son of the original director of the film Prakash Mehra. The 1973 super hit film starred Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya in the lead roles.
Apoorva Lakhia is directing the movie and southern star and son of famous actor Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan Teja is zeroing Amitabh’s role.
Priyanka is currently in Hyderabad for the film’s shooting and she tweeted, “In Hydrabad for 'Zanjeer'. Starting a new film always makes me nervous”.
The film also features Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana and Atul Kulkarni in pivotal roles
