Nawabi splendor was displayed at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s wedding reception in Delhi. Political bigwigs mostly graced Saif and Kareena’s Delhi reception. Saif-Kareena’s wedding is the most important and splendid event of the year. After a private registry marriage and a wedding reception in Mumbai on October 16th, the couple headed to Delhi for a grand reception in where mostly saw politicians attendance.
Madhur handarkar and his wife, Manish Malhotra were among Kareena’s Bollywood friends. The catering responsibility was given to Kitchen Art, a high end caterer based in Chhatarpur in Delhi.
Sharmila Tagore spoke to reporters in Delhi, “Bless the couple and join in our happiness . The venue, the decor is not important. What I am wearing is not important, the marriage is. We are all very happy. There was no reception in Mumbai, just the marriage. We danced, we had a lot of fun. There is no celebration in Pataudi, not now at least. "We may have something later. Abhi sab thak gaye hain. Abhi daal-chawal ka time aa gaya hain. (Right now we are all very tired and want things to be simple.)"
Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit attended Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's reception in Delhi. Politicians like Kamal Nath, Farooq Abdullah, Arun Jaitley, Sitaram Yechury, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Shashi Tharoor, Amar Singh and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda were among the 500 guests. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's wife Gursharan Kaur, former cricketer Kapil Dev, maestro Amjad Ali Khan, designer Ritu Kumar, actress Nandita Das and the Planning Commission's Montek Singh Ahluwalia graced the reception of Saif and Kareena.
At the Delhi reception, Kareena wore a pink ghagra and Saif was dressed a Raghavendra Rathore's creation. Kareena’s aunt Reema Jain and her son Armaan was also present at the wedding reception in Delhi. Karisma Kapoor and her two children, Samaira and Kiaan graced the occasion. The bride’s mother Babita also went to Delhi for the reception.
