Shahrukh gets emotional on Yash Chopra’s chautha



Shahrukh Khan who is very close to Yash Chopra shattered over his sudden demise. As soon as he got the information that Yash Chopra passed away, he rushed to see him at the Lilavati hospital with his son Ayran. It also rushed to Yash Raj studio with wife Gauri to pay his last tribute to the filmmaker who gave him blockbusters like ‘Darr’, ‘Veer-Zaara’, ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ and yet to release ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
Shahrukh Khan also attended his chautha. He was the first to arrive around 5pm. He got emotional on his chautha and spoke about the beautiful and memorable moments he has spent with Yash Chopra.
According to a website Shahrukh Khan said, "I have lost a father figure. When we were shooting in Kashmir Yashji told me that this is his last film, that time I couldn't understand what he means by that but today I have understood it all."
Shahrukh Khan further added, "Yashji had a different quality in him. Whenever he called up he use to introduce himself and say 'Hello Yash Bol raha hoon'. Then he would ask me, ' where are you?' as soon as I gave the answer he just use to hang up the phone without listening what I had to tell him."
Shahrukh said in the end, "I'm happy that he had a painless death in his sleep. I'm sure Allah miya wanted to some entertainment and he took Yashji from us. I'm happy now the people back in heaven will get to see some good cinema and shiffon saris."
With a heavy heart, Shahrukh ended his speech. Almost the entire film industry attended his chautha.
Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi, Katrina Kaif, Jitendra, Sanjay Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowarikar. Shakti Kapoor, Dolly Bindra, Parineeti, Sashi Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Shweta Nanda, Anuskha Sharma, Boney Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Gauri Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Javed Akhtar Subhash Ghai, Daboo Ratnani and Abbas Mastaan also attended the chautha.
‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ Yash Chopra’s last film is slated to release in Diwali. It stars Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead.
Yash Chopra died on 21st October due to dengue attack and multi-organ failure.
