Gorgeous Aishwarya Rai is likely to make a comeback with a Mani Ratnam film. The movie is likely to be released in 2014. It’s a remake of Daphne du Maurier novel Rebecca.
Post her daughter Aaradhya’s birth, Aishwarya has made minimal public appearances. She has been seen in a jewelry advertisement only. However Aish is not complaining. She is in fact quite happy playing a mother. She had recently said, “I have not even felt the time fly by. Any mother would know that you have no concept of day or night. Time just flies by, there is so much going on. I have no idea how the last 10 months have flown by. I want to be with my daughter all the time. That is the choice I have made. It is my personal choice and I love being with her. She is my angel.”
However the 38 year old actress and former miss world is involved in social causes. She has been appointed as the UNAIDS Goodwill ambassador. The Aim of UNAIDS is to eliminate AIDS from children by the year 2015.
Speaking on that she said, “There is so much work to be done. Along with UNAIDS I am hoping that we can make the goal of having an entire generation born free of HIV, possible by 2015. It will be historic. It is not the only goal; there is work that needs to be done for a long time to come.”
Well to hear that she will be back in movie should sound nice to her fans. Rebecca was first made into a movie in 1940 by Alfred Hitchcock. The story revolves around four characters, a rich count, Maxim de Winter, his deceased wife Rebecca, his second wife and the housekeeper Mrs. Danvers. After the death of his first wife de Winter visits Monte Carlo and falls in love with his would be second wife and they marry. They come to their Manor in Manderlay. Mrs. de Winter is liked by all, but the housekeeper Mrs. Danvers. She is still obsessed by the charm of the first Mrs. de Winter Rebecca. She tries all her ways to belittle the new mistress.
But eventually it is learnt that Maxim hated Rebecca and they had an agreement according to which she was to continue with her infidelity but at the same time appear as a perfect wife and heiresses to the public.
The story would indeed undergo lot of changes to suit the Indian audience. Hope it is a good platform for Aishwarya to make her comeback.
