Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Heroine’ jumps up high at the overseas market. The movie earns Rs 20 crore in the international market. Released in 42 screens in the Middle East on Thursday, ‘Heroine’ has earned $350,000, with 19 screens.
In India, the movie collects Rs.7.5 crore in Britain, it made up to $78,402 from 41 screens, while in the US, Heroine minted $140,000(the numbers of six theaters are yet to be declared). In India, Britain and the US, the movie was released on Friday.
“Heroine has seen a phenomenal opening in all major international markets. This was a highly anticipated movie and our marketing push has helped pull in massive crowds to theatres. No other female lead has seen such a response in recent years," Amrita Pandey, executive director, Syndication, International Distribution - Studios, Disney UTV, said in a statement.
‘Heroine’ speaks the journey of an actress and her ups and downs in life. Apart from Kareena,, ‘Heroine’ also features Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda in key roles. Though the film received mixed reviews from critics, Kareena's role was appreciated.
