Zarine Khan has been offered a plum role in a Hollywood movie. At the product launch of cosmetic brand Lotus Herbals on Tuesday night she said, “I have been offered the film but I am thinking about it.” She further added, “It is a thriller called `Chimera’ opposite Billy Zane. I have read the script but I am still thinking about it.”
Author-turned-director Daniel Silva is making the movie ‘Chimera’ based on his novel ‘The Fallen Angel’. The novel has been the best-sellers of all time.
Zarine started her career in Bollywood with the movie ‘Veer’ in 2010, opposite Salman Khan. It’s a fairy tale, how she got the role. She had visited the sets of Subhash Ghai’s movies ‘Yuvraaj’. Over there she was observed by Salman Khan. Salman was impressed by her looks and decided to cast her in his dream movie ‘Veer’. He was quoted as saying, “She looks the character — the sweet princess she is playing in Veer”. After a short screen test she landed the role of princess Yashodhara in ‘Veer’. Salman had a breakup at that time with girlfriend Katrina. It was thought he was casting Zarine in remembrance of his old flame. However Salman differed and clarified the reason for which Zarine was chosen for the role. He had said, “She’s a Pathan girl who speaks Hindi and Urdu well and was spectacular in the screen test. It was pure luck.” That was quite a compliment.
She was next seen playing a cameo role called Khushi in Salman’s film ‘Ready’. In 2012 she acted in Sajid Khan’s movie ‘Housefull 2’. The movie was a blockbuster hit. She would next be seen in a Tamil movie called, ‘Karikalan’. She will be again sharing the screen with Salman Khan in 2013 in ‘Partner 2’.
Asked about why she isn’t getting enough movie offers, Zarine said,” "I really don’t want to be in the race of newcomers, who are just running after the projects. It`s not that I haven`t been offered films. I have been offered a lot of films after `Housefull 2`, but I want to take my time and do quality work rather than quantity. Though would take time but I would like to follow it.”
We are looking forward to another foreign actress to get established in the tinsel town of Bollywood. We wish her all the luck.
