Shahrukh Khan is planning to give a surprise party to Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra. Yash Chopra turns 80 today.
Shahrukh has apparently asked Yashji to give two hours of his precious time. A source close to them revealed, “Yes, he asked two hours from Yashji.SRK is planning an event of sorts for Yashji, where people will get to see him and interact with Yashji. The actor will make the filmmaker recount his journey —on the screen and out of it. He also has plans to get the filmmaker to cut a cake. Shahrukh, who’s involved in the complete planning of the mini event for Yashji’s birthday, is very excited about doing something for his mentor.”
Yash Chopra and Shahrukh have a good relationship since a long time. It started with Darrand later on continued with everlasting hits like Dilwale Dulhaniya le Jayenge, Dil to Pagal hai, Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The association is likely to be strengthened further with the movie Jab Tak Hain Jaan. The movie is thought to surpass all the collections of Yash Chopra’s movies till now.
Earlier it was said that all those actresses who had worked with him, may be a part of his birthday celebrations. A source close to YRF films had said, “Every actress, starting from Mala Sinha, Sadhna, Saira Banu, Parveen Babi, Waheeda Rehman, Rakhi Gulzar, and Rekha to Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, to the present lot is expected to make it to the event.”
But it seems to be completely different now. A source said, “Much has been written about Yash Chopra’s 80th birthday celebrations — from a grand party where all his heroines will come together for the event, to him going for a holiday with wife Pamela to London. But the truth is something else altogether. It’s a known fact that Shahrukh holds Yashji in very high regards and has known him for many years. And so, he has planned a special evening for him on his birthday.”
Some however think this is a publicity gimmick for their movie, which is going to be released in two months. It’s felt that if it’s a surprise party, then why is it being revealed to the media. However fans rubbished that and had said that only the party plans have been revealed but what will actually happen during the party have not been revealed.
Anyways, it’s time to greet a Happy Birthday to Yash Chopra and to wish him all the success for the forthcoming film.
