Struggling actresses opt for skin show to grab attention

Fame and money is desired by all. Especially those people who aspire to become an actor. But when the dream is far from getting fulfilled they resort to various activities that could bring them to the glare of publicity expecting to get noticed by some influential person of Bollywood who could launch them. Conversely, the publicity stunts these people resort to does not get them anywhere and they remain those small-time actresses who are always on the look-out for a break. Let us jot down a few such names of small-time actresses who are doing every bit to seek attention. Sherlyn Chopra- Mona Chopra, today known as Sherlyn Chopra had a tiny role in “Dil Bole Hadippa” that did not get her anywhere. Other than this she has worked in some minor roles in a few b-grade films. After years of waiting for some big opportunity to come her way, she posed nude for ‘Playboy’ Magazine. She has been condemned for the act, considering it as nothing more than a publicity stunt. She even went overboard posting on Twitter that she deserves a Bharat Ratna for the same. Veena Malik- Veena Malik came into the limelight when the controversies regarding Pakistani cricketer Asif came to the surface. Then she tried to gain publicity through “Big Boss”. After that she started signing b-grade films and controversies since then has not stopped. Her alleged closeness to Ashmit Patel, her disappearance from the sets of her film, from furore over her fake nude pictures in a magazine to her fulfilling of her marriage dreams in Swayamvar all have been able to keep her glued to the limelight. Recently there was news that she has been signed in “The Dirty Picture” remake down South, definitely not for her acting skills. Gehna Vashisht- Gehna Vashisht came to the forefront with the news that she was attacked by activists for wearing a two-piece with an Indian flag. At the outset people sympathized with her however, later it was discovered that those were paid activists and the whole incident was a cheap publicity stunt. Gehna denied the accusations but we know better. Poonam Pandey- Poonam Pandey has taken the Twitter world by storm for all the wrong reasons. She posts her vulgar pictures on twitter. What thrust her into the limelight was her claim to go nude if India won the World Cup. Thankfully she ducked after that. Also she has not spared Bollywood- insulting and abusing actors through her tweets. She also made an appearance on Khatron ke Khiladi. Nupur Mehta- Nupur another starlet who came into the forefront for all the wrong reasons. Her name cropped up in the 2011 World Cup semi-finals match-fixing controversy. She was used to lure players to give into her demands. She denied having any links to the controversy, but at least we got to know the extent to which these girls can go to be in the limelight. Leena Kapoor- Leena is a struggling model who put allegations on former Pakistani cricketer and ICC umpire Asad Rauf for dumping her after promising marriage and consummating. She filed a police complaint for this and also mentioned that he did not provide her with a flat and a car as promised. Rauf denied the contentions calling her publicity hungry. Jhanvi Kapoor- The publicity stunt that will be remembered in the times to come is that of Jhanvi Kapoor. She landed at Abhisekh Bachchan’s marriage venue to stop the wedding, claiming that she was married to him. She even threatened to slash her wrists. This only led to her arrest. People do not get anything easily. And in a place like Bollywood it is all the more difficult to get noticed. However, what these girls do not realise is that resorting to such publicity stunts only for the sake of getting noticed only taint their image for which no big banner will ever cast them in their movies.
