The third generation of the Deol’s is ready to enter the tinsel town. Karan Deol (Rocky), son of Sunny and Pooja Deol is set to make his debut as an assistant director. He is assisting director Sangeeth Sivan with ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’. The movie is a home production, under Vijayta Films which stars dad Sunny Deol, Neha Sharma, Kristina Akheeva and Jonny Lever. Sunny probably wants his son to understand the nuances of the film land, before he takes up acting as a career.
It has been 29 years since Sunny made his debut with ‘Betaab’ in 1983. The movie was directed by Rajiv Rawail and starred Amrita Singh. The movie was a huge hit and flagged off his career. It’s being said that Sunny is thinking of carrying on the legacy with ‘Betaab 2’. This will mark the debut of Deol Junior.
Incidentally Karan is also training himself at Rajiv Rawail’s acting school. Speaking on his son’s desire to join films, Sunny had said, “I’ll encourage Rocky in every way possible. It’s not that my children don’t know any other life. We’ve brought them up like normal kids and we’re quite cut off from the film industry’s social circuit. But they’re passionate about cinema because that’s what they’ve seen their father and grandfather doing.”
By the looks Karan appears quite rock solid like his dad and grand dad. He finished his schooling from École Mondiale School, Juhu. He is interested in Football. His favorites include the entire Godfather saga.
As early as in 2008 it was reported that Sunny is planning a grand entry for his son in B-Town. However Sunny was angered by those rumors and said he wanted his son to first complete his schooling.
Speaking on their upbringing Sunny had said, “Just like our dad was with us, I’ve also been very strict with Rocky. But there’s nothing for which I’d say no to him." Though he regretted that Rocky and his younger son Rajvir may not see the struggle that his dad Dharmendra and later on he and his brother Bobby had to go through. He said, “I’m afraid they won’t see the struggle my dad saw; or for that matter, the struggle Bobby and I had to face. They’re missing out on something vital.”
Seems The Deols are quite confident of carrying on their family legacy forward.
