Penelope Cruz has a lot of admiration for the Indian film Industry and would love to work with SRK.
A leading Indian daily recently caught up with her. The discussion was on cinema and her work in India. When the actress was asked if she would like to do an Indian film, she said, “India is a culturally strong country and very traditional. Bollywood is now making its mark and people in Hollywood want to work with the Indian stars and in Bollywood too. I would love to work with Shahrukh Khan.”
Penelope is already involved in philanthropic work in India. Cruz had previously visited India to work with mother Teresa. She was very much moved by the condition of the leprosy patients at Mothers Teresa’s clinic. Later she had said, “To spend a week with Mother Teresa? I was more excited to do that than to get the greatest movie. When you are there, you feel more useful than at any time in your life.”
Penelope started her career in comedy drama art house film, Jamón, jamón. She played the role of a young woman in that film who is expecting her first child. However, her mother-law-doesn’t approve of that and asked Javier Bardem’s character to seduce her. She appeared topless in that movie after which she became a huge sex symbol.
Javier incidentally is now Penelope’s husband. They started dating in 2007 and got married in 2010. She had her first child from him in 2011. They have named him Leonardo. Penelope thinks that her husband is the best person to work with .When asked who her favorite actor is and co-star, she said it was her husband, Javier.
In 2008 she had wowed us with her movie Vick Cristina Barcelona. She is said to have again paired up with director Woody Allen, in his next venture. About that she said, “Working with Woody was easier this time because I knew him, so I wasn't so nervous because of all the stories you hear about him. He is peculiar and unique and different, but it is really a blessing to spend time with him. He is one of the funniest people in the world. Every day he does something that surprises you and that you will remember forever.”
We hope the film is a success like the 2011 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
