'No IPL team for me', says Salman Khan

“Jack of all trades, master of none”. That’s a tag that Salman Khan doesn’t want to live with.  The superstar has hence decided he is not going to buy any IPL franchise.
Recently the IPL franchise of Deccan Chargers was up for sale. There were speculations that Salman might like to enter the league of B-Town celebrities to own IPL teams. However he tweeted, “No IPL team for me just being human and movies.”
Some have however said that Salman may not have enough money to buy the team. As the last IPL teams of Kochi Tuskers and Pune Warriors were bought at a substantial amount of 1600 and 1900 crores respectively.  It may not have been possible for Salman to arrange that sort of money. Well to such people it can be said that none of the Bollywood celebrities completely own their team. Kings XI Punjab is owned by Preity Zinta, Karan Paul (Apeejay Surendera Group) and Mohit Burman. Similarly Rajasthan Royals is owned by Manoj Badale .Other owners include Ryan Tkalcevic, Lachlan Murdoch, Sir. Aditya S Chellaram and Suresh Chellaram.
Shilpa Shetty owns only 11.7 % in the entire franchise. Salman similarly could have formed a consortium to own an IPL team if he was serious enough. The fact is he is not interested.
Salman was once seen as the bad guy of Bollywood. He was accused in a poaching case, a hit-and-run case and also having connection with the underworld. He has however managed to stir out of those controversies.  Today Salman is known for a string of hit movies, like Wanted, Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger. All these movies have entered the 100 crores club, making Salman one of the most bankable actors of all time. Some had even said, if Salman has a flop today, it can only be with a RGV (Ram Gopal Varma) film.
Add to that his NGO ‘Being Human’. It has added a totally new dimension to Salman’s character. ‘Being Human’ sells T-shirts and other accessories from various stores. A substantial amount of that money goes to underprivileged children. The main aim of his NGO is on Healthcare and Education.  Initially when he had started ‘Being Human’, he had pumped in his own money for the charitable cause.
Salman truly is the man with golden heart. Always ready to listen and to do what his heart says.
